The operation was conducted by Mr Nduka, who performs Liposoft at the Lister Hospital in Chelsea, as well as hospitals in Brighton, East Grinstead and Goring By Sea. Having had some pre-operative photographs taken, Wendy’s skin was painted with antiseptic solution. She was then injected with a fine tube which had a high pressure water jet that contained a local anaesthetic. She didn’t feel anything. Once the fat was dispersed on her left thigh, she was requested to stand so that they could assess the progress made. The procedure was then repeated on her right side. The whole process took about 1.5 hours. On completion, she was able to walk to the recovery room. She was issued with compression garments that she would need to wear for 6 weeks, until the swelling had reduced.
Wendy left the hospital at 3pm and was able to continue as normal. As it was the busy Christmas period, Wendy was able to get all her shopping done the same day as her operation. She found sleeping quite difficult, as it was quite uncomfortable to lie on her side during the evening. She visited Mr Nduka some 5 days later, when the dressings were removed. All that was visible was a very short fine red line.
Wendy was able to celebrate her birthday on Wednesday January 31st in style. She no longer needed the compression garment and she wore a dress for the first time this year. She really noticed the difference in her legs. She is now looking into booking a holiday to show off her slimmer legs. |
